I use 1 oz. of fuel additive per 4-5 gallons (instructions say 5). Did you start adding the oil at the same time you noticed oil in the exhaust?
I started noticing it once I installed the turbo back exhaust, its been noticeable. I don't know how long its been doing that since I could't tell with the factory system. If I run my finger in the "mess" its a sticky black oily soot mix.
Well I unplugged the red waste-gate line and plugged it. The trucks runs 100x better than before! I no longer lose all boost when shifting! I am going to run my next tank with no oil and see if it clears up. Will I damage anything by leaving the line unhooked and plugged?

That's good to hear. Your truck won't over boost with stock tuning. As stated if for some reason it did it would defuel causing the truck to fall on its face... You'll know if it happens. If you think that woke it up get some tunes and hold on.
Well its been a few days and I've been keeping an eye on things for an update. I believe the mysterious "Goo" is maybe whatever leftover when MBRP coated the exhaust tip. Since there is no oily smell and no evidence of oil being sent through the pipes and only gathers in the back near the exhaust. Fresh diesel with no oil added on about 200 miles of driving.
The other thing I have noticed is I will have a slight haze with a faint blueish tint at takeoff or getting going from a stop. When I let the truck idle for about 10 min I will also get the same effect when pulling away for the first 20-2 feet then clears up.
I have been noticing this since I got the truck 20,000 miles ago. I had the injectors replaced with reman units by a diesel shop and I called him back to ask about the haze, He said it could be a turbo seal issue. He also said its nothing to worry about quite yet but to keep an eye on it. I have inspected the wheel and it does not look dusted and the first intake tube is spotless. The second tube looks like its been getting lots of gritty crap in it from the CCV, Looks like the CCV mod is in order as well!
I will pull the exhaust pipe off tomorrow and look for any signs of oil in the exhaust side and go from there. I cant tell if I have "excessive play" but If I use slight force I can feel slight play in the turbo in and out but, it takes some force to feel it. I think I am going to order Clays CCV kit and a re-build kit and start from there. Thanks for hanging in there so far!
I'd do some research on the CCV mod on Excursions. Most guys who do it have pickups, and they put the dump line back at the end of their bed or under the bed somewhere. In an X, the smell will find its way into the cab...and it stinks to high heaven! Just a heads up...
