so i have a 1994 f350 crew cab. i replace the plastic bushing in the front and on the passenger rear widows and they work great. went to do the driver side rear and it will only go up not go down using the switch at the motor. the driver switch wont work it at all. what could that be? and the lock wont go down it stays unlocked i dont know if that involved in the problem
Here's a diagram, but it's only for a 2 door truck. AutoZone.com Repair Guide Image. 31: Chassis wiring-1993-96 F-Series and Bronco
I put the link in so you could see an example(and it reminds me also) that the passenger side switch controls have to go all the way up and through the master control on the driver's side panel, before they go all the way back over and control the pass side motor. You can do some switch swapping, and possibly use the above diagram as somewhat of a road map to check and see if the problem is the driver's side front master switch. If it was faulty, the passenger side switch would not work.
Power Window Gears, Motors and Regulators at RockAuto
RockAuto.com is a sponsor so I thought it would be OK to chime in with a reminder that RockAuto has power window gears, motors and regulators by Dorman, VDO, Cardone, etc. for a lot less than the prices I see quoted in this thread over the years. Find them in the "Body-Interior" category for your vehicle. Here is an example link to the ~$10 power window motor gears for the '95 F-150: RockAuto Parts Catalog
The savings really add up if a bunch of windows go bad. I should know since I just had those three window regulator gear plugs disintegrate on one window on my wife's Tempo and on both windows on my son's Mark VII. A strange perfect storm. I am now an expert at installing new Dorman power window gears in early '90s Ford products!
