could that fuel hose from a rear tank be made to work in the front, i think it's longer though could i just shorten it? i'll check the junkyard for a new filler neck and some other related parts as well.
alright i went to sutherlands and found this reinforced vinyl hose that was corrosion resistant so i bought 2 feet of it. It's 3/4" ID so i think it'll work at least 'till i find a complete filler neck off a parts truck or something.
it was 2.69 a foot or there was this air/water hose that i knew would also work because that was also good with ag pesticides and things like that for 3.99 a foot. should last a fill-up or two.
Though my ideas may not be the brightest it is the cheapest and fastest way to get some fuel in your tank. And for anyone who wants a temporary way to fuel up i used a bit of ingenuity and found a decent funnel with a small enough neck and squeezed it inside the hose. then i held it together with a hose clamp so i didn't lose the hose in the filler neck. just stuck it down the incomplete filler tube and poured on the slow setting. I'd recommend 21/2 feet because i don't think the tube went all of the way and into the tank a little. It beats the heck out of filling six ounces at a time. And it beats spending $100 for a completely new filler neck when i can do a little searching for the tube and get that for a lot less. But maybe that's just me because i'm on a small budget 'till i get a good job.
