Reading all that I was thinking you must have a big boost leak.... Then I read that it's throwing a code. Have you checked for boost leaks? Is there a lot of spot under the hood? Check all boots make sure there clean with no rips and tears and tight

is the truck empty and will not go?
ether you have low fuel psi, low oil psi, no boost, bad injectors, low compression.
dose it start fast? does it blow smoke when you are loosing power?

i would check the fuel psi just to see where it is.
second i would check the hpop psi it may be weak.

no smoke i say your boost is fine, sounds like low fuel psi or low oil psi.
it could be the injectors, have you looked at the oil flow form them to see if some are weak?

It could be anything. Fuel/air. You can't just look for a boost leak! Make a boost leak detector... Tell us a little more about your truck you have us limited information. Does it have gauges? If so what kind of boost are you making? Is it tuned? Have you checked fuel pressure?

I had the exact same symptoms as you, and considering you were messing around in the tank, my guess is that you made the same mistake as me. When I did my hutch mod I accidentally swapped my pickup line with my return line on the cap of the tank. Therefor I was trying to suck the amount of fuel a 3/8 hose could support out of a 5/16 line. Once I dropped the tank and switched the lines back, all problems were solved.
My $.02

That's a great piece of information, I would have never considered even the possibility of that happening.

Thanks, it threw me in the ringer for a while as well. I figured at least it would be another possibility for the OP to check off.

Is the line going to the MAP sensor connected? What is the code specifically?

Can you view live data? Look at the MAP and Manifold gauge pressures.
