Just picked up a 91 Bronco that has a 6.9 non turbo 4 speed. Whoever did the swap, left many things off the truck, and removed the fuse box under the hood and crossed mist of the wiring. This is my first diesel but I've owned fords most of my life. Wondering if anyone could help me out with pics of their engine close up so I can figure out what is missing or messed up. The engine came from a 86 f250 and looks like they swapped the front end also.
Now with the tranny and clutch..the slave, clutch master cylinder, and hose are new but it is very hard to shift gears and the longer it is driven, the harder it gets. I've already tried bleeding the slave but that didn't work. Anyone have any ideas???
I will try and get a few pics tomorrow and post them so the expert diesel mechanics can laugh at me for what I've gotten my hands into...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. .also any tips or suggestions will be very helpful
Thanks in advance...
Welcome to the IDI forums! The under hood fues box didn't come into play untill the 92 model year. On your tranny problem, the hard shifting, as grinding going into gear, or binding up type of hard shifting?
The transmission doesn't wanna go into gear quite a bit and does grind sometimes. I was looking and maybe whoever changed it to diesel, use the wrong slave or master cylinder. Thought maybe it isn't extending enough..any ideas about the correct parts or how to extend the rods?
