Ok so I saw a lot of conversation on this issue ,hopefully someone could send me in the right direction. 2006 F250 6.0 150,000 miles ,while driving mostly up hill the truck will loose power almost like there's none so I have to stomp on the pedal turbo pressure and rpm goes up black smoke and there's power. Truck starts and idles fine. smokes some during normal driving. Sometimes the engine light is on. driving around town seems fine.
Thanks,I have to go to Costco and get a cheap code reader tomorrow.
You'd be better off to go to an autoparts store and get the codes read for free than to waste your money on a cheap code reader that may or may not pull codes on your truck. They don't all work. I would advise you to find something that you can use for gauges and a code reader. The dash gauges in the truck are WORTHLESS
Well you were right on. Had the code read and it was the valve. Took it out cleaned it and put it back in. Like a new truck. I wonder how many people have paid alot of money for 20 min worth of work. Thanks
