Red's Headers hitting steering linkage on bumps...anyone else had this?

The pads are inexpensive, I'd get them and swap them out just for good practice while it is on the lift, the truck will run smoother.

I just took your advice and emailed Midfifty to add them to the order I placed today. I got the 6 total pads and I am really hoping it makes a difference. Will report back.

The "Red's Headers" that you bought those from is not the original "Red's Headers"
The one you bought from bought out the original several years ago - I believe the new one was supposed to change the name in such a manner that would distinguish between the two

The new owners seem every bit as committed to the hobby and to quality as Red and Marilyn were. I don't think that's the issue here.

The BH pads aren't very thick, even if they were gone putting in new ones shouldn't make much difference. Hope they do but seems unlikely.

I've now seen several different mount illustrations. Which is the correct configuration front and side for a 1953 F100 with OEM flathead V8?

Those are the side mounts (above). This is the front. My manual doesn't show the 53 flathead mount but it is very similar.
