E-brake help

hey everyone, i recently got my bronco up and running and now im just doing odds and ends on it. im trying to get my e-brake to work now. when i press on the ebrake pedal it goes to the floor but doesnt lock. it just comes back up. i moved the release handle back and forth and it still doesnt lock. any help with this would be great!

Inside the foot operated park brake control is a curly Q spring. When it breaks, the control will not hold, will go to the floor, then come back up.

The bad news is: Not sold separately, only furnished with the control.

The only parts that could be bought separately: Clip that retains park brake cable to control; rubber pedal pad; release handle.

But, if one of the cables has snapped, or the cables are waaay out of adjustment, the park brake control will not hold (see parts catalog pic).
