I turn on my 6.0 and it would hesitate to turn on and throw out black smoke as it got hot it would run just fine, 2 days later i would crank it and it would not stay on.... i pulled out my ficm beacuse it was only putting out 24 volts sent it off to get repaired and placed it back in and the truck will crank but will not turn over i have no clue where to start?
I would suspect connectors on the back of FICM. All three should click twice. Thery are also easy to break. Some have used large plastic tie-straps to hold them in place if they won't lock in.

May want to look at the pins in the connection too some times when trying to plug at an angle they will bend, and use a little dio grease on the connection, also test your batteries you need two fully charged batts at 14 . when testing them make sure to test separate not both hooked in pairs.
