1997 F-150 4.6 V/8.....What would make a cruise control suddenly stop
working? OK today, dead two days later. Fuses OK, and replaced the
servo-motor unit. No OBD alarms. What gives? Thanks for listening.

There is a recall for the switch at the master cylinder that can short out and
cause a fire.
If the recall wasn't done and the switch is shorting it could definitely be the cause of your problem
If the truck hasn't had the recall fixed you can get the number by clicking the "tech tools" at the top of the page and enter your truck year ect
