cruise control problem

I was wondering is there a problem with the cruise control wireing on the 95psd's and up. My friend has a 1996 f350 gasser and his truck cought on fire from some faulty wireing on the cruise control. He said that it was a recall from ford that was kept of the dl. He said that i should look into get my 95psd checked. I was wondering did any of you guys ever hear of this?

Rocco, It was on NBC Nightly new on Tuesday night. I don't remember all of the details but there is a problem. Better to check with Dealer. Carroll

from what i have gathered, there is a switch on the distribution section of the master cylinder ... disconnect that til you get it checked out. I have several ford products that I disconnected that switch til I get them checked out and sure enough, I am receiving letters to get it fixed. The brake lites will still work with this switch disconnected.

I thought the recall was for the F-150.
