89 f250 7.5 custom. I finally found it, but I am not sure if it is set properly. The plastic device has a small window opening where you can see red. Is this what I should be seeing? I have tried pushing the button on top and it doesn't move at all. So I would assume that unless it has tripped this is normal. I tried to post a picture but wasn't able to. I am asking because we are having troubles starting the trucks. Cranks strong but doesn't turn over. Thought I would eliminate the inertia as a problem.
yes pushed in position is correct. I haven't seen many go bad though.... Have someone turn the key to on position not cranking and listen for the pump by tank, it should wine for 2 secs then cutoff.... also they do have their own relay on the firewall, you could switch it with another of the same number.... also check for spark....
My fuel pumps wouldn't run on a cold spring day this year. Inertia switch was not "tripped", but only after wiggling the wires connected to it did the fuel pumps run. My passenger side door seal is on the fritz, and I suspect some water caused the problem.
