Assuming they fit, it this just a matter of tearing it apart and putting it back together with the new parts? Or is there tuning involved?

Well, first before removing ,gently screw the idle mixture screw all the way in while counting the revolutions. This will get you a starting point once back on the engine. Second, once it is apart you have to soak all the non-rubber parts in carb soak. It comes in one and five gallon cans. Your carb is small enough you should get away with the one gallon. Once it's soaked for a few hours blow out all the internal passages. Compressed air is the best way. Then rinse and wipe down. All the necessary adjustments will be explained in the instructions that came with your kit.
