new ac

Finely had time to install my new Nostalgic Air Parts AC in my truck Yea! The system was pretty easy and straight forward to install and I was able to use my factory heater controls to work the system. During the install the problem I noticed was the new push pull cable is the short for the defroster and will need to be changed out. Now I need to take it and have it charged I'll let you know how it all works out.

COOL! Once you get it charged up and cooling, give us some feedback on how the system is working out .

Nostalgic air parts

Okay so I got it charged up today and it works Great. It took 1.5 pounds of 134 Freon and when it's off idle the low side is it 10 psi and the highside is right around 200. While driving it today the far vent on the driver-side is it 50° when the fan is on medium and was below 50 when the fan was on low. The outside temperature was 102 with 30% humidity, the volume coming out of vents is excellent and it felt really nice driving it. The Floor of truck only has the a rubber mat so once I get the and get a pad down down with carpet I figured the temperature will drop some.

It does blow cold.
The vents are very nice quality and looks factory.
It uses the factory controls.
It was easy to install and the directions had good pictures.

Dislike
There is an extra control for the temp switch you need to find a location for. i put mine under the ash tray some what hidden.
I haven't had to use the Defroster yet but it doesn't seem to have a lot volume.
There is no floor heat vents...
The push pull cable they sent for the defroster wasn't long enough but i was able to use one of the factory ones.

Over all i would give it a B- I think if i was going to do it again i would spend a little more money and get a Vinatge Air and use Nostalgic vents or use there "Dealer Add on A/C" so I would have a better defroster and floor heat. Not a big deal in Phoenix but it does get cold for me

I hope this helps

Dan

Thanks for the extended update. Sometimes once you live with something for a while you get to see the defects more clearly.
