Camper shell for a 65

Hello guys posting for the first time,
I recently towed my late uncles 65 f100 from San Francisco to Los Angeles to start working on it. During the process the trailer I rented sheared all the lugs on one of the wheels and sent the truck, trailer, and tow vehicle(99 f350) into a violent fishtail until I got it onto the shoulder. Luckily the only damage sustained was to the camper it blew out the window, tore apart where it mounts to the bed rails, and tore apart the top. I was looking to see if anyone had an idea of a replacement cost or manufacturer for something like the one I have. Or if any of you have shells on your rigs post a pic.

Now for the truck. It hasn't run in about eight years but has a good looking 390 that I will try to start up this week. The body is pretty straight and I'm excited to get her going again.

Thanks for any help
Will

Welcome to FTE

On sale day, 352's magically become 390's. 390 wasn't available in F100/350's until 1968.

I had a 'generic' no name aluminum camper shell on my 1965 F100, I would think that any 1965/79 8' bed camper shell would fit.

If it's a 6 1/2' bed, you may have a problem finding a replacement unless current (2004/2013) F150 6 1/2' bed shell would fit.

Lotta camper shell dealers located on Valley Blvd. in El Monte and on Holt Blvd. in Pomona/Ontario.

Will, Welcome to FTE and the Slicks Forum.

Hey man you have to give us a little more to chew on than what you did for us to help. Down here in the Tarheel, all I know is you have a 65 with a V8.

Hey guys thanks for the replies. I know the 390 wasn't available till 68 but I going off what my uncle told me years ago. he had a guy put a 390 in the truck back in the 90's. Is there any way other than measuring the stoke to easily confirm this? Iam trying to figure out how to post a picture still.

Thanks, will

*Update - Just posted the pic*

Could we see some pictures? Here is how.

But I got ta say becoming a supporter is the fastest and easiest way to post pics right from
your whatever pad/cell thing or home computer.
Few of us look in the users Gallery or album as you can see by your recent visitors.

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
The best photos and videos | Photobucket

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.
