recently ive had a problem with the electrical in my truck. I have a 1999 f250 7.3... Long story short, my windshield leaked onto me GEM box and shorted my PCM. I got it fixed and reflashed. as a result, my headunit quit working, my reverse lights don't work, and my windshield wipers and sprayer doesn't work. well I ran a new hot wire for my headunit and got it working. im not honestly too worried about my reverse lights. my windshield wipers I thought I could handle not working by just keeping rain x on it.. but the one time that I forget to reapply it, it rains and I have to pull over. id like to just run a hot wire to a toggle switch and mount it on my dash just to get some movement in bad rain. does anyone have any suggestions or prior experience.. and im not dummy, ive checked all fuses and everything that could be a "simple fix" just not too familiar with the different power wires that control the different speeds. any help would be appreciated!
Thanks alot for the help! So do you think if I can find the two wires coming out of the back of the GEM and just run a new hot wire to them it will restore power to the wipers?
I know there is a motor underneath the wipers at the top of the good... I haven't gotten a chance to messing with it. I was looking to get some knowledge before I try to fix it.
well i messed with the relays for a while and ended up just figuring out which wire was the fastest speed, and tapped into it and just mounted a toggle switch on the dash. thanks for all the help guys! glad to have functioning windshield wipers again! never know how much they mean until you dont have them!
