The person who last had it hacked up all the wiring for the stereo. I don't have any plugs at the end of the wires so I'm not sure where to start on replacing them. I think when they yanked out the radio before they left it to get engine work done on it they decided to cut everything. All the wires seem to be there and they did leave me some nice new speakers in all doors. What kit should I get to replace the oem plugs with? All I wanna do is attempt to replace the oem plugs then I can go from there. I'll try to post up a picture of how bad this mess it so you guys can maybe help me out.
Also my navi didn't come with a stock subwoofer and amp. I would like to add one if I can. Possibly just use the box for a cleaner look and install an aftermarket amp and sub. What all do I need to have all this running?
You will need an amp powerkit an amp and a sub would be my best advise. Also get a wire harness for the radio you have, plug it into the back of your radio cut the other end off and match up the ends to the wires you have cut. Easiest fix IMO
heres a picture of the hacked up wiring i have to work with...i only have 4 speakers in the truck so i dont think i have any premium system aside from the steering controls which i have no use for i just need to know what plugs i need to hook up an aftermarket cd player. i only have one small black plug still intact
sorry on the delay. you have two choices 1) make it work and option 2) unhack what someonr hacked.
so all radios have an aftermarket plug to go from there radio to your OEm harness. Some stereo shops dont use these instead they cut the harness and just match the wires.
what I would do is go to an aftermarket stereo shop and find the harness for your radio to your year truck.
option 1) match the colors or labels to the wires you have exposed hook it up and be on your way
option 2 go to a junk yard and cut as much of the harness you need. then match the wires from the harness you cut to what's exposed in your dash. I would buy some nice butt connectors that have heat shrink and glue in them and be on your way.
also depending on your radio you might be able to pick up a remote so you could still use your controls on your steering wheel.
sorry for any punctuation marks miss spellings or formating issues I am typing this on my phone
