Well I got a new radio because the guy I got my 1990 Bronco EB had it pulled. I got a harness kit and only one harness fit, the one for power. The one for speakers did not fit the Bronco connection. Now I spliced all the wires from old connection and since there was no old radio I can't figure out where the wires connect to the new radio. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE COLOR CODES? If I have that info I can finish this project or IS THERE A WAY TO FIGURE IT OUT. I see two black wires and lots of colored wires some with strip. I guess the + and - wires.
You might want to give this a shot http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...=1&cc=01&avf=Y
its like $12.00 at crutchfields, take a look at the harness, the one you have might not be the right one. Maybe you can figure it out this way. I've had 4 different Sony in my 96 Bronco, the install guy doesn't even charge me installation, he pulls out one and replaces it with another, search Aduio forum maybe some one there can be more help ful, or check the web for your radio might find a diagram for that wiring.

What brand is it? Sony, for instance, has an 800 number you can call for installation help. They can give you the color codes over the phone. One of Ford's "better ideas" was to change the speaker wiring every couple of model years, making aftermarket hookups a nightmare for installers.
the real problem hear is the fact that your truck has an amplifier between the radio and the speakers. you can buy an adapter that will plug your aftermarket radio into the factory amp and all will work. this is the easiest solution. the next solution is to buy the amp bypass connecter, this allows you to conect to factory conectors and wires, but bypasses the extra gain from the factory amp. the third choice is to run new speaker wires to all your speakers. Right now i have the first and easiest option in my truck with my pioneer radio, and it works fine. only difference i have noticed is it plays about 1.5-2 times louder at the same volume setting then my brothers truck which doesnt h ave the factory amp (f150) it just means you use a different range of the amplifier in the radio, for example level 8 instead of level 15.
Where do I get the adaptor for the AMP? I basically guessed about the wires and none are right. So it makes it impossible to change the balance or something without getting something else. I will call pioneer today and get their advice. Thanks to all, your fast response is appreciated.
It seems like you are able to get some sound through your speakers so at least you aren't crossing with the power wires. Get a nine volt battery and touch the speaker wires to the battery, (one wire to each terminal on the battery), and you will hear a light POP from the speaker that it is going to. That will help you seperate the speaker wires. As for the color coding, usually there is kind of a pattern......yellow, yellow w/ black stripe, green, green w/black stripe...etc. Usually the striped wire is the positive wire. If your harness is not like that, then post back and I will have a color coding pulled and send it to you.
