Clutch Master or Slave?
97 F150 4.6 4x4 5 speed, 201,500mi.
So lately I've been having problems shifting, as in I sometimes have to force it to go into gear. I replaced the clutch about 5000 miles ago when I rebuilt the engine, but I didn't do the slave cylinder which was dumb of me. I just replaced the tranny fluid, clutch master cylinder and clutch fluid about 500 miles ago. I've already bled the clutch twice (including when I changed the master) due to trouble getting her into gear. After I bleed the clutch, shifting returns to being nice and smooth, but over time seems to be harder and harder shifting. Pumping the clutch does nothing to help get into gear
My question is, could it be a faulty master cylinder, or perhaps the slave cylinder?
My father suggested I possibly have a small leak which is sucking air into the system, but I have not seen any fluid at the master, or in the bellhousing.
I'm sorry If this post is jumbled, as I've been working 12's lately.
If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Daniel
