The PK/BK, RD/OG, and the PK/OG wires are all normally ground. When the lock button is pressed the PK/BK goes positive and the other two stay negative making all doors lock. When pressing unlock just once, the RD/OG goes positive to unlock only the driver's door, a second unlock press turns the PK/OG wire positive to unlock the remainder of the doors. During any of the unlocking features the PK/BK wire always stays negative.
Yep, I confirmed you are right on. Could you here the desperation in my typing?
The relay install was easy. I found the big PK/BK wire at the driver's kick panel and spliced into it. I tied one side of the relay actuation circuit and one side of the Normally open pole to ground. The other side of the relay actuation circuit went to the PK/BK wire. The other side of the relay NO pole went to the remote start actuation circuit. (All this for someone who comes across this thread with the same question).
It all tied up neatly behind the driver's kick panel.
So this door lock type is referred to as 5 wire 12V alternating at the12volt.com. Or 5wi for short.
Now for the big question, does the remote start work?
Yes! Of course I had verified that by grounding the activation wire manually three times before tackling the activation issue. But the relay switched ground off and on at a rate that was satisfactory to the default settings of the RS unit.
I guess I can't give you more reps until I give some somewhere else. I'll try to remember to come back here after my next problem gets solved by the helpful folks at FTE. Or maybe I'll just look back at my history. I just figured out the rep points thing recently. Anyway, from here for now, thanks for the help. Your information allowed me to piece all of it together and understand the problem and solution instead of just blindly doing the fix. The path to solution is worth as much as the solution to me sometimes.
