I have a 2006 F250 and it has the stock keyless entry. I would like to have remote start system as well. I know I can buy an aftermarket system, but I'd prefer to no cut any wires. does anyone know if it is possible to add on the OEM remote start system that may have been used on a superduty or excision of this vintage? and if so, is it a plug in type installation? or do you still have to cut and splice the stock wiring harness. thank you all in advance for you help and knowledge
There never was an OEM remote start system offered on the Excursions, or any Ford vehicle of any year that I know of (someone correct me if I'm wrong), so your only choice is aftermarket.

Edit: Does the Ford SYNC have the capability of remote start?

Not sure if the option was available on the SDs those years but other Fords it was so possibly. The ford units were made by Code Alarm and were "dealer install" kits. There are aftermarket kits that are better and still easy to install. There are even programmable modules and harnesses to make things easy.
Sync does not have remote start capability. It is only integrated into the audio system. It has the connections to the System Buss only for health reports.

Dealer add-ons are not factory OEM like the OP is asking for though.

Yeah, I Googled it after I asked and didn't see where it was a feature.
Yes, but the same unit was used both places, made by code alarm. The way he would buy it now would be to find a dealer install kit on fleabay..., or go with a far superior aftermarket kit.
I've done a few of these Stewart, you dont need to bold me out lika tard.
Viper is part of the Directed electronics group, most of their brands are of similar quality. They save some of the fancier options for the premier brands like Viper. If you are not looking for the fancier features you can go with the less expensive brands and have the same underlying components without paying for the brand name.

What?
Dude, get a grip, I didn't bold you out like a tard. I can see how you might think that if I included a rolly eyes smiley or something, but I didn't do that.
I emphasised to delineate the difference between what the OP was asking, and what you were answering, to make sure you understood the OP specifically wasn't referring to a dealer add-on.
As much as I miss stuff when I read posts, and as frequently as I miss stuff, I was just making sure you didn't pull a Stewart.
Either you totally misread the tone of my post or you have some thin skin thinking I'd do something like that, especially because I was asking for help from anyone who could verify my initial post.
I literally thought you missed the specificity of the OP's post. Nothing more.
Capiche? ( THAT was for humor, not tard-ness. )

My local Hi Fi place installed a CompuStar in my Diesel have not had a problem of over two years. They have it set to delay the start so the glowplugs can work properly

Viper is pretty much the front runner right now in the autostart/alarm game. I've owned no less than 6 different and unique high-end alarm/autostart systems. If I had to pick one now I would say Viper.
But let me add....your alarm system/autostart is ONLY as good as the person that installs it! Cutting up and brutalizing a harness and those that put alarm brains in stupid places can cost you in more ways than one. Get a high end installer and pay good money....thus great job(DO your homework on the installer as if he/she is a building contractor, ie...get recommendations and referrals)
