Vacuum issue

Vacuum issue

My 04 expeditions' temp mix door goes to default. I located a gray vacuum line coming out of the firewall that has vacuum. I can tell that it broke from somewhere but I can't for the life of me see where it came from. Anyone know? Oh yeah it's a 4.6

Well, my mechanic friend stopped by and pointed it out real quick. It's to the Cold Engine Lockout. I guess it somehow bypasses the heater core when the ac is on. Clever.

Interestingly enough, my 99 did not have that (the vacuum cutoff for the heater core lines). The 32valve Navigators did. My 01 E-350 15-passenger does not.
