Black food can

Sorry for the dumb question but can anyone tell me what the purpose and name of the black canister thing is that is hanging in the engine compartment with my friends 400? Thanks.

Clayton, That can is a vacuum reservoir that keeps vacuum on your heater control when your engine vacuum drops. If it is shot and you just hook the 2 lines together when you accelerate the heater vacuum controls will move on their own but will return after the vacuum comes up.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, for the reply. I always heard of them as being "coffee cans" too, and now I know.

Talking Black food can

79 Lariat,

You're right. Conveniently located opposite the jack,
right alongside the battery. Use as needed to clear
out bowtie infestation and male sheep stampedes.
