Hi, first timer here. We just started a project that required a dump truck, so I found a nice 69 f600, in good shape. Hauled several tons of dirt and fluid started coming out of the rear passenger hub. Thought it was brake related because the brakes would barely stop the truck. Pulled the hub and the breaks are fine. turned out the fluid was axle oil. To the point, I am looking for a rear axle seal. I have googled to no avail. Then I can get to the break problem.
I can't find any #s on the axle housing, there are #s on the wheel axle-J5106 5-9
B1 16-1 MW.
Here are the #s from the door.

Welcome to the forums. Most of the decoders don't reference bigger chassis.
NumberDummy will hopefully be along and help you with what rearend you have(truck, not you LOL). He's the resident parts guru and can look up anything for you.
^ Most of the decoders don't recognize 11digit VIN's, since 17 digit VIN's have been used since 1981 (trucks), 1980 (cars).

VIN: F61CKG11179 // W.B. 156 / COLOR: T / MODEL: F617 / BODY: 5381 / TRANS: A / AXLE:F3B / MAX GVW LBS: 20000 / CERT NET HP: 164 / RPM: 3800 / DSO: 658079
To figure out which seal is correct, usually...the size of the rear brakes must be known and the weight capacity of the rear axle.
F3B: F3 = Eaton model 15201 Rear Axle / 6.33/8.81 / 15,000 lbs. rear axle capacity / B = Ford front axle w/5,500 lb. capacity
I don't need the size of the brakes, because onlyone seal is listed for 1968/69 F600's w/a 15,000 lb. capacity rear axle.
F4TZ-1S177-C (replaced E8TZ-1177-B & DOTZ-1175-B) .. Rear Axle Seal / I'm not sure if it's available from Ford...or not. Here's what I do know:
MSRP: $112.22 / FTE Ford Dealer Parts Dept sponsor tousleyfordparts.com price: $74.06 / I called Tousley (located in White Bear Lake MN), they have 3.
If you can come up with physical sizes, you might find it at your local bearing/seal distributor. I know my local bearing place can cross some stuff over with original part number. (that is if you have one local). Sometimes Napa does okay with this stuff too.
Thanks for the info. With it I was able to come up with the right seal I hope. LOL. The original part # was C8TA-1175-C that crossed to a Napa 35810 a little thicker but it seemed to fit right.
Now on to the breaks, everything is good except the booster. Makes a lot of sucking air noise when pressing on the break peddle and also makes the RPM go up. Really hard to stop the truck empty let alone loaded. I found a remanufactured one from Oreilly's. I'll post part #s if its correct.
The original ID number marked on the seal was C8TA-1175-C that crossed to a Napa 35810 a little thicker but it seemed to fit right.
Marked with ID number: C8TA-1175-C = Ford part number DOTZ-1175-B replaced by E8TZ-1177-B replaced by F4TZ-1S177-C > same part number I listed in post 3.
