Any Input on Vehicle

Used 2008 Ford F250 Lariat For Sale | Fort Worth TX

As stated in my other post, I'm in the market of getting my dad a new truck. Been searching and searching and keep coming back to this body style.

His main features he wants.
4x4
Diesel
Amenities

Just overall a lot nicer than what his 03 Cummins offers now.

My restrictions are (due to his age)
No huge lifts
No huge tires (he means above 35's)

This will pull every once in a while, but not a main factor. The reason he's thinking this is due to reading on here that this is a great highway truck. He lives right off a highway, and out here its all highways and about 30 minutes in between towns at 70mph.

He's 76 now and he said this will be his last truck he every buys, hence why he wants all the comfort and amenities that these have to offer. With that said I do have a budget to stick to. My price range is roughly 30k give or take. With that price range, and what I'm finding around here you have 2 outcomes. 1. Its 5th wheel setup, I'm not a huge fan of that. 2. There roughly sitting at 80k-90k on the mileage.

Now is this mileage a problem? I will be getting it from a dealership, and according to the Ford houses around here if its below 100k miles I can still add an extended warranty.

Now the truck link above is one he really likes, (at least the pictures anyways). We will be checking it out tomorrow. The front bottom drivers seat looks a little worn so Ill be seeing how much a new bottom cover is. Also the center caps got my attention. 3 of the 4 look like solid center caps, the 4 which is in the rear looks open. What I have looked at so far, these have the manual hubs like my 7.3 does, Is that right?

Any other insight would be appreciated.

This truck does have hubs that can be manually turned to engage but it is ESOF. Or 4x4 on the fly. The hubs can be locked in as a redundant feature should there be a leak in the vacuum system

Tail pipes looked clean and the truck has the integrated trailer brake controller and mirrors, very important must haves in my book.

It would be good to look at the motor but this one is promising.

If you lives right off the hwy this could be a great ride for him. It needs those up to operating temps and that should be perfect.

Open road mpgs vary a lot based upon many factors but I would expect at least 15 mpg on the hwy with a reasonable speed. Probably more but I would think empty it would net that.

Worth looking into it more.
