Well, for starters, you could fill in all the missing pieces. My crystal ball is in the shop today.
What do you mean "turn off" - the lever disengages, or it stays engaged, but the light stops blinking? If the latter, does the light get stuck ON or OFF? Do the turn signal indicators match the behavior of the actual turn signals? What does the right side do?
I had a similar issue on my '17 F250. The left blinker would go into hyper mode on occasion. Externally, all the lights appeared to be working properly. It wasn't until I removed the left rear light assembly and pulled the bulb sockets (with wires still attached) from the plastic housing that I noticed only one of the two bulbs were working. I replaced the bulb and everything went back to normal.
So I’m driving my Ford with the lights on and turn left the signal for left is on and blinking but the right one comes on and stays on, the four way flashers work
I'm having an issue that sounds similar to Murdawg71, but it's likely unrelated since it is self-induced.
I bought a 79 F100 Ranger, and the bed had some rust. So I pulled the bed off (with all of the lights working properly, except reverse which had a broken switch), and put a stakebed on, and installed some sealed LED trailer lights from good ol' Harbor Freight. Now everything works except when I turn the blinkers on they stay on like a one-sided brake light. I expected the LED's to hyper-flash which I was okay with until I got a resistor installed, but instead I have to run the blinker arm up and down like a nut-case to get them to blink.
It does this for both sides, and the indicator on the dash matches what the blinkers do. It also causes the front blinker to stay on rather than blink. I installed automotive grade sealed Deutsch connectors for all of my wiring so I can re-install the old harness when I get back to the original set up.I have checked the ground, and even bumped to a larger size wire, tried different ground locations, etc.
