using a walbro pump, air dog 150, sump, SD regulated return with stock fuel filter removed, Isspro fuel pressure gauge set @64PSI..what I have noticed lately is the pressure will start at 58 psi and slowly build back to 64..with this set up I have never seen a pressure drop at WOT and still don't.
With RRE around the corner, is this a beginning of a pump issue?? filters have less that 9000 miles..suggestions??
john,
that is the plan next week, oil change, and all filters..I am not sure that is the issue.when I first start the truck, the fuel pressure is fine.It is changing while idling and even driving. Ideas??
With my fuel pressure being read electrically, I see some variance at times. Once it stabilizes, it reads very closely to my set pressure. I use it for reference, but don't always put a lot of stock in the numbers. I have seen the pressure read ~10 psi higher that my set pressure of 62 psi, but never more than a couple psi less. I don't see how it can read higher than the set pressure. There are no restrictions in the return to skew the numbers. Go figure.
Do you have a spare sending unit? This is how mine started, continued to get worse until dropping to 0 and not working at all. Another time had an AD failure causing fluctuating pressure.
