They should work, but if you are doing it to remedy a wore out column I'd advise you to bite the bullet and rebuild your own. Any used column is or will be just as wore out. You take it out either way so you may as just ensure that is is 100% new versus a used guess.

I would advise completely opposite. You can buy used columns for $25-40 at a yard, or spend $100+ to rebuild one. Been there... done that.
OP, yes you can use an auto column in your stick shift. You'd just have to swap a few parts around to remove the auto trans gear selector and put your manual column parts in its place.
The OP having a manual transmission truck means that he will not have the shift tube bushings to worry about replacing. Therefore the only other wear items in the column are the shaft bearings.
I would agree with glovemiester and advise to pull and rebuild your current column. You can buy the bearing kit from Ford which has been designed to replace the stock stamped wear prone upper column bearings. In fact, Ford issued a TSB to address this wear, 96-23-1.
The rebuild kit can be had for about $60 and comes with instructions to disassemble and reassemble the column.
