I'm 6'-3" and have weighed as much as 255 lbs. My '83 F350 is comfortable with the tilt column up one notch and the seat all the way back. I'd just find a good tilt column from an '80-'86 automatic truck and swap. Some later '80s may also work. Be aware that there are lots more things to wear in a tilt column so check for "play" (up/down, side/side, pivots, ignition lock cylinder gear drive, etc.) so try to find a really good one. I had to rebuild mine using a "donor" and it was difficult even with the Ford Factory Shop Manual for guidance.

A tilt column from a 87-91 truck should work too. I am using several pieces from a 90 column on my 85 column, turn signal switch, and auto delete collar. They look exactly the same too.
