Well I have a 390 with a motocraft carbrator, it was rebuilt when I put it on, and I have had no problems with it until today, no pop no backfire at all. So I finally have to go out of town and phones service for the first time in this truck, get a ways out and it basicly starts missing and cutting out and dies. The first time if died, the clear inline filter coming out of my tank was empty, switched to my main tank and it ran for a little while and then quit, this time the clear filter between the fuel pump was empty. Swithced back to my big tank, and the same thing happened except the filter after the pump was empty, and the filter before it was full. Got home and let it idle, this time it started cutting out and died, but both filters were full of fuel. I do not get what is going on here but I know it is fuel delivery. Also everything is new on my motor, fuel pump distributer, etc. The reason I dont get what is going on is because this carburator was running perfectly smooth, jets are adjusted right... Sorry to be wordy, hope someone has some ideas
What is the condition of your fuel lines for their entire length? Any cracked or brittle hoses? Some of them hard hard to spot, but they're there. If they crack, the pump will lose siphon.
