I noticed exactly what your seeing in my truck after I had the Trans rebuilt. The fluid in it was unknown to me but I put amsoil in it when I put the Trans back in and see a consistent 30*ish degree difference. Before during the summer it would never go above 140ish and I've seen it as high as 170ish now. That's empty.

Mid afternoon 85 outside empty cruise control on 58 MPH level roadway drivinng rain storm 170 degree temp. Before I would not see above 150 on an even hotter day outside. I normally would not see 170 degrees before unless I was towing the 5er hauling anus on the interstate.

I hear ya man...that is exactly the deal I got going on. What did you do to resolve that?

My temps were not hot just warmer then they were so it isn't an issue for me because the truck is more of a toy. I don't haul much at most a car or truck on occasion when someone breaks down. For me I always thought the temps were too cold to be honest. A warmer transmission is more efficient saying 100* vs. 170*

I have always been very temp sensitive. I have always heard heat is the biggest tranny killer.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong I'm working off memory.
Also I know I have no blockage because I cleaned out all my lines before install of the new Trans

Update: The shop just called and said that when the service was complete at the last visit, there assistant overfilled the transmission fluid by a quart over and that there was a foaming issue so they had to remove the quart to get the levels right. I guess being overfilled did not allow it to breathe right or something like that and that the foaming action is hard to get to cool down.
They did a test drive on it and the temps stayed around 140 and 150 numbers so it is ready for pick up.
Just thought that the I would update you all in case this info may be interesting to some current/future readers.
