Ok I have a 07 350 and I just had trouble starting it and I pulled up a code that said injectors so I waited about an hr and tryed her again and she started up and I got a lil oil leaking out of the oil pan.... If I drive here for a little bit then turn her off it won't start but if. Wait about an hr she'll start so I don't know what's the problem? If anybody can give me an idea whats wrong
Hot no start indicates a HPO leak, probably standpipes and dummy plugs and or STC fitting. Do you have any gauges that read live data like scan gauge II or one of the smartphone apps like dashboss for IOS or torque for android? They are an absolute necessity in diagnosing these trucks.
You may want to post the exact error code numbers with the device you are pulling these codes with as a start. Also, you may want to explain or take a pick of the small oil leak out of the bottom and some history of previous problems or mods you have already done to the truck. If that does not help, there is a search tab for individual Forums to look up and filter to similar issues like yours.
I would personally put Stand Pipes and Dummy Plug's in first. Than if that didn't work, the STC fitting.
Are you running the correct oil filter and cap? (Motorcraft, International or Racor filter, Ford cap)
O yeah, is your FICM good?
I middle finger peck at the Keyboard, So I have no Idea how I out type anyone!
What is an HPO leak? And yeah right oil and not forsure on the code
HPO=High Pressure Oil
You have a high pressure oil pump (HPOP) that provides the oil to fire your injectors. It takes a certain amount of pressure to fire those injectors and it takes a minimum amount of HPO pressure before the computer will even command them to fire. If you have a leak in that system, and there are several points that it can leak, then the truck won't start because hot oil is thinner than cold oil and it can't build pressure. There are a lot more complex factors involved in the whole process than that, but that's the basics of the HPO problem.
It would really help narrow down the problem if you could get the right code.
