Watch eBay, they are on there fairly often. I'm using my phone so can't post a picture but suspect one of the others can/will. I think I paid $50 +/- for mine. In the end, however, you can't beat having a big air gun to do the job right. Budd lug nuts are both left hand and right hand threaded, and are torqued dry to between 450 and 500 lb/ft of torque. After having spent decades peacefully doing their work they won't want to willingly come apart even with use of the gear reduction tool. Stu
After years with a wrench and 5' piece of pipe as a cheater bar, my dad bought a used Schramm V4 compressor and a 1" drive Toyo impact wrench.
That compressor was loud enough to wake the dead, but the wrench didn't struggle much on those lugs. The compressor couldn't keep up with it, so you had to pace yourself a bit. My dad found a 1" socket set for very little money at a pawn shop.
One of my buddies suggested just dropping it off at the truck tire store while you go back to productive work. Silly idea, why do productive work when you can cripple yourself working on truck tires?
I broke down a bought a Chicago Pneumatic 1" gun, and teamed with my Quincy they come off like butter. Also bought a 600 lb/ft Snap On, and haven't touched the cheater bar since. Stu
Can't post photos but you might be talking about a "slap hammer" Last I checked Ken's Tool still sells them new. I have photos of the one I bought on CL. PM me and I can email them to you.
I already took them apart ,and had to replace a few nuts and bottles. Just would like to have that old tool! Too carry in the truck. But never really saw one!

After I got out of the Army in the early '70's I worked my way thru college as a mechanic at a dairy. I changed many a Bud wheel on Divco milk trucks and International and refer trucks with a slap hammer. Never had a wheel I couldn't remove. I picked up one on CL in a metal case for $20 bucks just needed the socket which I already had. Best $20 bucks I ever spent. Here is a link to the current version for info:
That's not the one I thought Bernette had in mind. There's a gear reduction tool that allows the inner nut to be held while the outer is removed. That's what we need a picture of. Wish I knew how to do a link from my phone. Stu
