Do you know this truck?

If so, I think we're going to be getting inquiries on dewatering a drowned diesel.

I see Warn hubs and a lot of rust. I'm guessing it's a 1999.5 - 2000 because of the running board and the badge. Feel free to fast-forward.

Obviously not a well maintained truck He's a long way from 100% now! Whats the odds its a man. trans. with a parking brake failure or failure to apply said brake.

Exactly what I was thinking. I didn't see an auto shifter up around the column, but the viewing angle wasn't perfect.

Love the water sloshing in the headlight.

I dont know exactly how I would react if I were in that situation with my truck.

Let's hope none of us have to find out "how we'd react in that situation".

I have the manual trans and frequently launch my boat. I picked up one of those big RV wheel blocks and throw it under the tire quick to back up the parking brake so that doesn't happen to me too. If the landing is real steep I just shut her down. That would be a real "sinking" feeling

Yep, and I'm guessing that with all the rust, they really didn't even need to open the doors to let the water drain out... or in, for that matter.

I would bet that if Alequick444) sees this... vomit will ensue...

His story is still one of my favorite reads on the site.

Alex took some bonehead risks (IMO) but I am VERY glad he came through with intact and with great stories. His rebuild up in AK was definitely one of resourcefulness and, if I recall, showed how strangers become friends. He's hiding a golden horseshoe somewhere on him, but I'm not going looking for it!!

ive seen this happen to many times at the boat launches in Bolles harbor in Monroe, MI.
I saw 2 in one day once and it is not a pretty site.
whenever i launch my boat, like kel104 said, i always shut her off and put blocks behind the rear wheels.

i saw two side by side at the same time. a guy in a chevy forgot to set his parking brake and got out, the truck started to roll in. a guy next to him in a brand new dodge diesel jumped out to try to get in the cab before it went under only to watch his go under too.

those were in salt water at a state run marina too.

I'll never understand why people dont just shut their truck off when putting their boat in the water... you shut it off, parking break, and in park (or in gear if its a 6 speed) common sense if you ask me...

Anyways, looks to me like hes gonna have a bit of a clean up on his hands.
