Im kind at a stopping point for motor mods and repairs for now. Next will be a hpop injectors, and maybe a turbo
But for now i need some braking power. I just started hauling a 13k lb skiddsteer not including trailer. All together its ob 20k. The trailer brakes are not the best and will be giving those direct attention as soon as i get back from vacation.
I have stock rotors now and not towing i get the ole hop when i apply the brakes. I have needed rotors for a while and now that I'm towing this much weight the entire situation needs to be addressed. My budget is not huge by any means and i know that good parts cost good money and my situation cannot stand to have cheap parts. So I'm looking for some decently priced good rotors and pads.
I need some good suggestions on the rotors along with some good pads that will stop great with NO brake dust AT ALL !!!!! I can't stand brake dust.
Also my fluid is stock fluid. Ive never changed it and need to do so. Suggestions on a good fluid to use alone with a good method of doing so.
I have EBC dimpled/slotted rotors with EBC Yellow Stuff pads and they work great. I have heard lots of good things about OEM Ford rotors and Ford "super duty" pads not the standard Ford pads, if your trying to keep the price down. Otherwise I have had good luck with Raybestos "Premium" rotors and pads on many other vehicles I have owned.
Semi-metallic pads, no dust that I've noticed. My EBC slotted rotors were expensive, but they really grip (even when wet). A decel tune will lighten the load on your brakes... keeping them cool down a grade and extending their life. I'd get an inexpensive laser thermometer and check where your brake temps are after you put them to the test. This will give you a baseline for checking them later. Mine get to about 140 degrees after driving in traffic.
I also have the EBC yellow stuff pads and run them on napa rotors. Much better than what was on there previous, they are dusty though.
The Chinaman's pneumatic bleeder is real nice for fluid exchange. Brake Fluid Bleeder
Good info Travis thanks. Im not a fan of brake dust at all and if the yellow stuff pads are dusty pads....... probably will be staying away from them. Thats a good bleeder with a good price. I found a craftsman manual bleeder at my dads the other day and might use that.

Thats great info. id be interested to know the price on the ford sd pads. Just to compare them to others.
So after reading the replies and doing some home work....... I think I'm going to skip out on the Slotted/Dimpled Rotors. I know they are nice and id love to get them but just a lil over my budget. Probably going with rotors from NAPA, along with many some HAWK Pads or a good Permimum pad from NAPA.
