even though it was 113 in the desert where i live i spent a little time Saturday morning tinting my windows . i went with a 20% tint off Ebay .
I pulled the rear window to tint it (easy)
the sides took two times each to get them right .
sorry about crappy pics , snapped them in a rush with phone .
My '70 didn't have a bed light. Musta been a box to check for it when you ordered it.
I tinted my '70 back in 1984. Then about 5-7 yrs later the tint laws came around and they really started cracking down so I peeled it off the side windows.
I did the rear slider of my current '89 when I bought it. With no tint it was like a picture window back there, plus the headlights behind me was too glaring. I followed a trick I saw on TV? Wet the outside of glass and slide the tint on backwards(sticky side up). Cut and fit and then apply to the inside like normal. Makes it easier to cut and get it clean looking on the edges.
Too late now, but a thought for the next time.
Man, that's a good look'n truck. I am a real big "alum slots guy". Sure do miss a daily driver like that!
I have not had a single negative from police about the tint on my truck. I did have a minor problem (didn't write me a ticket) with no rear bumper. That was 1 officer & 1 time. I think he knew I wasn't putting a bumper on, ticket or not.
I've got 5% tint on most of my vehicles, but there's just something wrong with tinting a classic. Just looks a little off to me. But your truck still looks good as always
