Need hints for installing door seals.

The last time I installed door seals it did not go well. I used contact cement and somehow got the seals rotated or turned around and had to cut and piece them in, effective but pretty darn ugly.

Any hints on how to do it right? I have a shop manual that shows pictures, including the 2 rubber filler pieces that I do not have. The manual shows where the two ends are suppose to meet inside one of the clamps.

I am not sure which side goes outward (flat or double edge side), seems it changes somewhere on the door.

Any hints or advice will be appreciated, including "Take them to a professional."

me three, getting more glue today for the other door using 3m contact
its hot here today so this stuff goes off fast
if you use the clips it is more clear how the rubber goes on. The clip bends over the rubber edge. i'm not good at this need a pix
page 17-11 in manual view cc shows clip bends over the edge of rubber
as for the half moon rubber I think the rubber from dc has a more dense material in those area's

tried to get a pix to help
The seal was to long from belt over the top of door to the other belt
so I had to have two but joints in the seal I did not pull hard on the seal
it was just to long on both doors you can see the clips 4 on hing side 2on the other

Been many years since I installed the door seals on the 65, originally purchased from a source, found it inferior and returned it, basically came in a roll and the question was where do I start. Purchased from D.C., what helped with the install was it had 'pegs' incorporated in the seal along the bottom that inserted into corresponding holes along the bottom of the door, don't know if the seal still comes that way, certainly helped.

yes DC still comes with pegs, but the center divider has a nut(caged) that is wrong size at the wing vent screw goes thru rubber at bottom of vent so saved the nuts off the old divider so next guy watch out for it

Now that you mentioned, do recall that caged nut at the wing vent, certainly put my stress level to the test. That, and couple other examples taught me never to discard old (original) parts until the project is completed, more than once had to go back and salvage a piece off the original not included with the replacement!!.
