Redoing my 82 f150s weatherstripping that's completely missing. Does anyone have a picture of the door seal on the upper part of the door itself? I am needing to see where it starts and how it's positioned. New seal has a push pin but I don't have any holes in frame.
The only thing I am reliably aware of is the rubber gasket that goes around the door
frame; my truck also has pieces of material at the top of the door that looks like it was
tacked in place by a PO as it just looks like aftermarket weatherstripping that's been
there for years and is falling apart.
Perhaps a picture of YOURS will help, as I'm not really sure what you're asking about....
Like yours, my truck didn't come with this weatherstrip originally. I can't post a picture right now, but here's how to place it.
First, pull out the plastic pins and discard them. They go on the front edge of the door near the upper hinge. You don't have the holes and can't drill one without taking off the door.
Next orient the weatherstrips so the angled side is facing the inside of the truck. Position it so it runs from 1 1/2 inches above the top of the upper door hinge. Run it over the top of the door alongside the inside edge. It should reach to just about 2 inches around the downturn at the back of the door. Then peel back the tape and stick it down.
