89 F250, 7.5....Looking at the engine it sits back by the firewall on the passenger side. It is to the left of the heater hoses. It's about 2" round and high. There is a flat metal piece attached and if you push on it it sounds like there is fluid in the container. One white wire comes out of it and I can't tell where it goes. It is wrapped up with a bunch of other wires. Those wire seem to go somewhwere in the dash area. The reason I am asking is that the white wire literally crumbled in my hand. If this item is important we will replace it. If it isn't important it can wait. The truck has been sitting since 2009 and we are working on getting it started again.
Thanks
That activates the door that selects outside or inside air. It typically only works when your A/C is on Max.
Mine crumbled as well. Where does the other end attach to? Could this be why my A/C isn't as cold as I'd like? BTW, I have a '96 F150 300 straight 6, if it matters.
To repair the line, you will have to unwrap the harness that it comes out from. That's what I had to do on my '96 to find enough good tubing to actually connect to. I simply used a combination of rubber and plastic vacuum line to restore it.
