Yeah, I think S&M is one of the greatest albums of all time. The singing, guitar work, and most importantly the sound of the album is powerful and cool. If you don't like that cd than I don't know what to say, maybe you're really really into the hardcore stuff. I personally don't like the screaming, play-guitar-like-drums, double bass-the-whole-song stuff. I'm not saying heavy music doesn't get you pumped up though to each his own. I drive faster with it on, tell you that. As far as I know not many musicians think Hetfield or Lars are that spectacular. Hammit is a great guitarist though, and Hetfield gets the job done, he's got some skill. Lars just looks funny. I like Stand's radio songs. Different strokes for different folks. Sure Metallica isn't as good as the were, but S&M is their peak accomplishment, is sounds better live than other band sound recorded.
WYSP, of Philadelphia, Pa., has the worst music programming ever heard in the USA. I do not understand how one station can keep playing the same boring, brain-numbing doo-doo over and over again. When WYSP blasted its' listeners with a promotion called May-tallica, I had a good idea the album had to stink. Why would Metallica need to promote an album every 15 to 20 minutes, all day long, for over one month?? The answer is simple, St. Anger bites the big one. As soon as I heard the song St. Anger, I knew the entire album had big problems. I love Metallica, and I'll enjoy the old stuff, but don't count me in on this one. All because of that one song being so awful to listen to.
Even Howard Stern was quiet as a mouse when he heard it. Howard, the professional, crap-pusher, won't even endorse this garbage, which says alot; He has promoted some really lousy products.
i do gotta admit i get really pumped up watching the St Anger video with the surround sound on full blast.... i think i only like the song cause it seems catchy to me, alot of my friends like it and they are pretty hard to please when it comes to music. but, like me they hate the rest of the cd.
anyone else got that White Stripes "seven nation army" song stuck in their head? everyone know is eating that song up for being so simple and corny, the big radio station in the Twin Cities ( 93x ) is getting requests for it constantly. its a typeof musicid usually throw out the window, but dang its catchy
I like that White Stripes song, it is real 'catchy' there are alos alot more other new rocksongs I like. I have been listening to new rock as much if not more than my country and classic rock.
System Of A Down can make a GREAT rythem/ slow song, and then they go and loue it up by just being noisy and not makin any good tunes. like, "when angels deserve to die" they sound so good at some parts, and then just bang around on the instruments...
or a good example is Arioles... i love that song, thanfully the dont start moshing out on teirguitars during it, they keep it sounding clean
THE WHITE STRIPES- get my credit for keeping it so simple, just one singer, one guitar, one set of drums... soooo simple, and mindless, yet thet have the number one rock song in the country right now?
I used to listen to alot of Punk, buit a year and ahalf ago someone broke into my truck the night I returned to base form Christmas leave, they stole 700 bucks in cd's all my punk, hard rock, classic rock and the start of my country collection, the only ones I have replaced so far is some of the calssic rock and all the country and some, I do listen to Punk whenever I get the chance but we do not have anyhting that plays any REAL punk around hre in Ark.
I have to agree that S&M is one of Metallica's best albums along with the black album(garage inc. is pretty good to). S&M has the fullect sound of any CD i have ever4 listened to but thats propbably due to the orchristra(sp?) You guys should here the pep band in our school play our teachers versions of Enter Sandman off of S&M(she wrote her own version from just listening to the cd),
I would think that they would know that people hate them at this point considering how they tried to get 316,000 of their fans in trouble (Napster). I hate them mostly for that reason but also because they've sucked in the past, they suck now, and they always will suck.
