DPF Delete and Mods

Well, I just completed the following with 9375 on the Odometer :

- DIESELSITE 2011-2013 Ford 6.7L Fuel Filter / Water Separator
- New MotorCraft Fuel Filters (Top & Bottom)
- aFe Stage 2 Intake System PG7
- H&S MiniMaxx Tuner w/ High Sulfur Calibration Tune Vin Un-Lock Code
- Flo Pro 653NB 5" Aluminized Downpipe Back Exhaust w/ Muffler
- H&S EGT Probe Kit
- H&S EGR/Cooler Delete
- H&S Dash Mount & Adapter

I can tell you that the EGR Cooler Delete Kit is a monster to do. If you have large hands you will take off more than what is in H&S's directions.

The question is do you disconnect the O2 Sensor and Pyrometers and leave the connections open?

or

Do you remove the O2 Sensor and Pyrometers and use electrical tape to protect the open connectors?

or

Just leave everything in place just zip tied to the frame?

I would like to remove the UREA Tank. Does anyone know or have a list of instructions on the procedure for removal of this tank with hoses?

Thank You
Walter

The DEF tank seemed pretty easy to remove, I had to take it off to be able to access the rear sway bar link bolt. I wish I could have just left it off though, sounds like deletes are going to be my next project here.

Is there any way I can retain the existing exhaust tip and all that? I see no reason to replace it when I'm just removing the DOC, SCR, and DPF. Would a regular muffler have to be re-installed since the DPF's inherent noise reduction characteristics will be gone?

you can buy just a delete pipe that will replace the section where the filter was, retaining the first section of factory exhaust and the tip. My truck is straight piped and its pretty loud, not so much driving around town, but when you stomp it, she roars. Cold starts in the winter are pretty loud too.

I'm just going to put some dielectric grease on my open connections where I disconnected all the sensors from the dpf, should keep them from corroding??

2ndStroke,

This is what I was driving at dielectric grease on my open connections or is there some special thing that is done. When I replaced the full exhaust. The instructions never mentioned what to do with connectors.

I know I used electrical tape and zipped tied the open ends after the EGR delete. I would like to know if that is good or if there is something better.

Thanks

Ya, I'm not sure if that is ok or not. That is my plan to put some dielectric grease on the connections myself. I left my open all last winter.

Mine have been open exactly how they were unplugged for almost 3 years and 100,000 km. I never plan on plugging anything back into them. No issues so far.

I got your tuner in my garage

With just the DPF delete pipe it's not too loud. I had mine like that for a while. That little resonator can thing at the bend over the axle actually does something. You can always cut in a muffler after the fact if it's too loud but I don't think you will need to.

Yes, the pipe just replace the DFP etc section, everything before and after stays.

Ok,

So, I will just apply some dielectric grease and then electric tape off the open connections. Just to play it safe.

I think you should be good, should keep the connections from corroding.

I'm gonna do the same, I'll never plug it back it in, but the dealer might have different ideas when it comes time to trade the ol girl in. Years away of course.
