Seems to me there was a recall/TSB on jumping out of park (years ago). We didn't get too many at the dealership I was working at but my 75 ( F250 SC 360, C6 )did jump out several times. I remember getting a re-call notice.
So I found the part that Number Dummy suggested. It looks worn but not broke. I went to the Ford dealer who said they couldn't get one. I tried LMC but they don't show that part for sale. According to NumberDummy it' a shift detent with a partial part number of 7A216. If I check the junkyards it will most likely be in the same shape as mine. So where does one go to get these type of parts?
You may try your luck at a JY cause not all of them slipped out of gear like yours, so maybe possible to get a reasonably good part. Of course if you can find a new one go for it. Later.
