So I found a small tear on my turbo outlet boot. I already had planned on replacing them all with RR boots, but until such time, anyone got any ideas on how to seal things up on a temporary basis.
Thanks Rich, I was thinking one those types of products might work. We should try and hook up sometime, I'd like to get some AE data logged so I can start planning a long term attack to bring my rig up to 100%. So far I've service the needle bearings and Auto/Lock hubs, replaced axle dust seals and knuckle seals, serviced/replaced slide pins, turned rotors and new pads on the front, replaced U-Joints and inspected ball joints. The ball joint look fairly new, MOOG, and are tight. However, there still is some rattle/chunking on rougher roads, starting to suspect the stabilizer bar bushings. But first things first, FIX THAT BOOST LEAK!

Sheesh... I didn't even look up and realize it was you (must have been that Autism kicking in). I have a box of OEM boots over here and my day is already half-as...under because of a last-minute schedule change. I'll get with the wife (after work) and see what she says about a short road trip this afternoon.
So pulled the CAC tube and boots off to clean and apply temp fix to small tear on outlet boot, and I fiqures to myself, got it out, mays well foil delete that thing! So start into it and find the lower section removing quite easily as it was well saturated in oil...sooooo, get it all off, start cleaning things up and find boost leak #2...cracked weld on the CAC tube..what's next?...oh wait let me take that back, seems if I speculate bad things happen

Aaahh carp. I don't have a tube lying around here.
So, I "painted" on some JB weld over the offending leaky tube and let cure, then wrapped over that with the stretchy silicone seal tapey stuff...so far its held up to a short test drive with lots of boost cycles. Finding that leak certainly explains why the driver side frame rail and all other associated components in the area were covered in copious amount of crud! Got a lot of that cleaned up yesterday. We'll see how it holds on our trip to the wet side today.
Great job on the fix! I finally get some time to get on the road today and you're on your way to the wet side. We'll get it together sooner or later. There is an event in Plain next weekend, MTDewX and I were talking about meeting there... I need to check if that fell flat. This event looks so informative, it's hard to pass up.
