Hello everyone,
I'm Jake and new to this site. I have looked but couldn't find an answer to a question I have so I hope someone out there can help me.
I have a 68 f100 with the 360 it has the 4 speed granny low tranny. I also have a 85 f250 chassis with a 6.9 and a c6 with a gear vender. I am wondering if the c6 from the 85 will bolt up to the 360.
Can anyone help?
Your '85 oil burner pattern trans will NOT bolt up to your 360 "FE" motor.
Ford uses about 300,000 bell to engine patterns....
Almost every engine series uses a different pattern.

You can probably get an adapter for the GV to bolt to the 4 speed, but you'll have to talk to the GV folks about that, along with a driveline feller as you will need an adjustment there.
If you just want an automatic, there are billions of FE C6 transmissions around.
Scroll down a bit for bell pattern comparisons. No oil burner pattern, but is is similar to the 385 series pattern, or so I gather from other posts here:
My answer was incorrect. See correction above. Sorry for the error. It's not that I don't know this, I just didn't proof my post. Thanks to Numberdummy for calling this out.

I'm so ashamed....
You should be for allowing your forgetter to kick in and not check it.
