460 distributor

want to change a 460 to points distributor can anyone tell me want distributors will fit into a 460

351c 351m 400 429/460 Why do you want to change to points the dura-spark is a pretty good distributor I have had issues with the boxes dying but you can use a GM HEI module on it and get home.

460 distributor

I have a problem when we drive to a show the truck runs great but it sits at the show then we get ready to leave the truck has no spark I replaced all the parts no luck then all new wiring no luck then all of a sudden I try it and it starts and runs great till the next time

Most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. Providing you are talking about new parts & not new to you used.

Pre '68 429 or early 460s had points. I have one in my '68 CS with a 460 with the Pertronix module and it's great.

No such thing as a pre 1968 429, as it and the 460 were introduced in 1968. 460's initially only installed in 1968/71 Lincoln/Mark III's.

DuraSpark electronic ignition intro'd in 1974, but not all vehicles came with it until 1976.
