I CANT FIND A REPAIR MANUAL ANYWARE IN TOWN. I CANT WAIT TO GET ONE IN THE MAIL. SO HERES MY QUESTION WHAT ARE THEVOLTAGES COMING OUT OF THE ALT AND VOLTAGE REGULATOR. ITS A STRIGHT 6 240
I would just check the charging voltage at the battery. Voltage across the battery should be aproxiamately 13 - 14.7 volts @ idle. The voltage at the battery "BAT" terminal of the alternator should be the same or very close to that.
IIRC, the stator "STA" terminal voltage should be about half of the battery voltage.
If you're testing the system and bypass the voltage regulator ( don't do this without the repair manual ), the alternator output should climb to anywhere between 16, 18 or even 20 volts.
I hope this helps.
