Knock sensor faults are assigned codes 324 to 329.
The sensor is a Quartz crystal that generates a voltage when physically excited by block or cylinder head knock.
What this does is retard the ignition timing a number of degrees until the knock no longer is detected then returns the timing to normal.
These sensors are tuned for use in a specific application so they do not respond to valve train noises, timing chain noises, injector noise etc.
Good luck.
