2004 transmission problem

Hello everyone from Italy! I have a 04 f150 5.4v8 fx4. Cause of a broke radiator and the mixing of coolant and trans oil, i must replace the tranny. i've buyed a remanufactured one at trans depot, it arrived me here in Italy and i brought it to my mechanic, and here's the problem...at the link below there's a photo where you can see circled on red a cap that was on the new transmission, and in the old one there was a sensor...so the mechanic took off the sensor from the old tranny and put it in the new one, but it doesn'n fit, the sensor seems to be too long. He told me that it's the speed sensor, and cause it don't fit the truck doesn't shift and the speed gauge stay firm on 0mph... I tried to wrote to trans depot but they don't answered me yet! any suggestion? please help me solve this problem cause it's more than 50 days that i'm without the truck from when it stopped with the fried tranny...oh, it's a 4R75W...
