My new '67
1) Small oil leak somewhere. Can't tell if it is coming from around the oil filter or somewhere else. Usually a drop or two on the garage floor over the course of a day so I will try and track that down.
2) Leak around driveshaft where it enters the rear end. Smallish leak as well but gathers around bottom of rear end and hits the garage floor as well. Can also see where it has splattered up on the bottom of the bed over time.
3) Chatter in 3rd gear. 1st/2nd/4th are fine but when I get on it in 3rd it is pretty noisy and when it is lugging in 3rd same story. Most likely needs a rebuild kit but I am open to any suggestions.
My first older vehicle in a while so I am looking forward to crawling around and getting myself educated on the mechanics.
Here are a few shots....

Thanks, Mark

Nice that you have a 390 in it now. Put in a 390 in mine when I got it cause the 352 had a hole in the block so could not be saved.
Fortunately just a few parts are '67 only and a lot other years can work.
I've had mine for 15 yrs. now and still enjoy it, you'll have fun with it too. Later.

The motor/trans are not original. It has a 390
with an NP435 and I believe the bed is from a later year but I could be wrong.I can seem to find anything in the online sales brochure from 67 that mentions a "sport custom" package available that year.
How do you know it has a 390 since 352/360/390's look identical and on sale day, 352/360's magically become 390's! Measure the stroke to determine engine size. 352/360 = 3.50" / 390 = 3.78."
Both the NP435 & Warner T-18 4 speeds were available for these trucks. TRANS code stamped on Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.
A = New Process 435 (NP435) / F = Warner T-18.
Styleside bed same 1967/72 F100/350, only the emblems/mouldings could be different. 1969 was the last year Custom Cabs were available for F100/350's.
Beginning 1970, there were 4 models. Custom, Sport Custom, Ranger (carryover-introduced in 1965) and Ranger XLT.
Outside mirrors and wheels are aftermarket. Hood nose moulding (it's composed of 3 pieces) isn't original as 1970 was its first year. Hood side emblems are correct and they're 1967 only.
Wrong front bumper, it's from a 1978/79 F100/350/Bronco. Correct front bumper: 1964/77 F100/350 except 1973/77 XLT's that came with horizontal black vinyl bumper pads.
Your truck is missing the stainless steel windshield reveal mouldings that came standard equipment on 1967/69 Custom Cab/Rangers, 1970/72 except Custom.
There are TWO different w/shield weather strips. Most people are unaware, so they get the wrong one. With mouldings, the w/strip has a groove in it.
No mouldings, no groove in w/strip.
Thank you very much for this information I really appreciate it. I checked out the VIN info on Fordification and found out some great info as well. Original color was Wimbledon White and Harbor Blue. I see that color peeking through all over so I suspected that was the original color. Looks like it was originally a 352 with a c6 transmission and was built in February of 1967 in San Jose California.
Thanks again.....Mark

1965/67 F100/350 352 = MX Cruise-O-Matic - 14 trans pan bolt holes.
1968/76 F100/350 360/390 = C6 - 17 trans pan bolt holes.
Ford confusion: TRANS code G stamped on the Warranty Plate was used for all A/T's thru 1978.One had to know which trans was available with what engine.
Where you do seem to know your stuff very well I am wondering if you might know the answer to this. Of all the things on my new truck the one thing I don't care for are the wheels. I am looking for something similar to the ones below. I love that smooth hubcap look with some steelies (ideally painted to match the blue) but not going to lay out all that right at the moment. Would a smooth type center cap fit on these rims or do they require a steel wheel with special indents for a hubcap?
Just thought I might ask.
Here are the center caps which caught my eye. Don't necessarily have to say ford but I like the smooth dish type hubcap.

Innie, so called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the inside of the wheels center section.
Last year for F100 innie wheels: 1966.
1967/83 F100, 1975/96 F150 wheels are "outies" .. so called because the hubcap snaps over tabs located on the outside of the wheels center section.
AFAIK, there's no Genuine Ford "smoothie" like the above available for outie wheels, Baby Moons would be one possibility.
Not sure if he got the baby moons from (Ford) over the counter or maybe from some after market place. There's no #s on them but they are SS. I know the OP got all kinds of cool stuff from (Ford) over the counter, back in those days, - like the plastic form fitted gas tank cover that was lifted out of my truck one day, along with my seats. Never seen another one like. Hmmmm...
Bill ND should know if Ford ever sold baby moons over the counter. Hell, they sold everything else.
