All good points when it comes to the 6.0 intake, stock works best.
However, Jeff05EX is a V10.
This brings up an interesting point...
When on mobile i can't view signatures, a lot of user-cp info, or give reps. So it puts the mobile user at a big disadvantage and makes tangents too easy...
It's doesn't hurt anything...if you read Art's article, he noticed more power thought the RPMs and didn't mention fuel economy, but I imagine you may see .5 to 1 mpg depending on how you drive.
if you are using the stock PCM tuning - absolutely DO NOT USE a aftermarket intake. the PCM can't adjust for it readily...so you aren't gaining anything from it. The PCM is tuned to utilize what air it can get from the OEM setup
now
if you plan on tuning the PCM...go for it. On my 4.6 3v, a CAI was worth +15 HP from Ford. I had a 2009 Bullet with the FRPP CAI. it was rated 315 HP vs. the normal GT @ 300 HP. Due to the tune + CAI. I did custom tuning and squeezed another 10 or so HP out of her before doing other mods. A good CAI can get you good gains with good tuning. But it's worthless by itself

Which I failed to mention since I had to take off to work....Art also had 5 star tuning, you should look into that if you plan on adding anything aftermarket.
pretty much all CAI's do the same thing and you won't notice and significant gains from one to another.
you can eke out more HP with one than say another...but that is going to take dyno time and alot of work. and to be honest, in a 7-8,000 lbs car, seeing an extra 2-3 HP just won't be noticed.
volant is a good company. I had it on my 2006 F-150. loved it
but you already have one. So save some cash.
Have you done the ZooDad Mod? It's free, and I've seen my IAT's drop by 3-5F in city traffic and up to 10F at highways speeds. Also keeps the IAT from getting excessively high while sitting at a stoplight

I disagree. I don't have first-hand knowledge of the V10, but posts I've read tell me they are like the 5.4 engines that I am familiar with, and the MAF in conjunction with the PCM can utilize a better flowing intake.
Since we've determined the OP has a V10, I'm gonna move this over to the 6.8L forum where the guys who are experts can chime in and offer their opinions.
